About the Hub

The London Health Trainer Hub is hosted by Health First, the specialist NHS health promotion agency for Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham in South East London. The London Health Trainer Hub provides advice, assistance and practical help for health trainer programmes across London. There are eleven other regional Health Trainer Hubs in England all supporting health trainer services across the country. The Hubs evolved from the health trainer early implementer sites.

The London Health Trainer Hub brings together people leading on, managing or co-ordinating health trainer work in London to share information, ideas and learning. The Hub's services are geared towards supporting programmes at all stages of development, from initial planning to delivery and evaluation.

The Hub encompasses all aspects of health trainer work whether delivered by Primary Care Trusts, local authorities, community and voluntary sector organisations and the private sector.

The Hub also works alongside third party partners involved in health trainer programmes. Third party partners include the public sector, such as the fire service, as well as not-for-profit organisations and private companies.

The London Health Trainer Hub Lead is Graham Rushbrook, Director of Health First.

About the Hub's Services

The Hub:

• Provides a chance for those involved in health trainer work to network, share best practice and learn about the latest national and local work
• Offers professional development for members via learning sets, events and other training
• Collates and disseminates a variety of health trainer-related resources as well as developing new resources
• Can direct members towards support with set up, delivery and evaluation of programmes
• Is a link between local programmes and national work and the Department of Health
• Collects data on all London programmes to report to the Department of Health

Hub events Hub events are a chance for members to hear the latest updates on national and local work, as well as network and share learning and best practice.
