Sorted: info for young people who fancy people of the same sex

The Lambeth and Southwark Sexual Health and HIV Team has brought out an updated version of the Sorted booklet. It's written in an accessible, no non-sense style. Some young people panic when they realise they fancy someone of the same sex; others take it in their stride. More than anything, young people need to know that they are all right and that they're not on their own. That's where Sorted can help.

Parent to Parent Programme

Watch 'Parent to Parent' on Google video.Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities parent programme was delivered to Somali, Latin American, Arabic and French speaking communities in South London during 2003. This video shares the experiences of parents and facilitators who took part in the programmes. Community leaders from the different communities speak about the needs and difficulties refugees face whilst in the U.K. Intergenerational conflict can occur in families as a result of the different ways children and adults integrate into British society. This video reveals how Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities can be beneficial to refugees communities. The programmes were delivered in their own community languages and REU have 4 videos in Somali, Spanish, Arabic and French, which are available from them.

The programmes were delivered in partnership between a statutory agency HAZ Young Refugee Project and a voluntary organisation, Southwark Refugee Project. It aims to inform statutory and voluntary sector workers of the benefits of the parenting programme.

Health First supported and funded this resource. You can watch it on Google Video.
